We must stand strong and immovable in faith, strong and immovable in family, and strong and immovable in relief. Julie B. Beck, "What Latter-Day Saint Women Do Best: Stand Strong and Immovable," Ensigh, Nov. 2007, 109-12.

Carmelized Brown Butter Rice Krispie Treats

8 ounces butter, salted or unsalted
1 10.5-ounce bag marshmellows
1 12-ounce box Rice Krispies

Line pan with waxed paper or parchment paper and butter it well. In a large pot, over medium-low heat, melt butter. It will melt, foam, turn clear golden and finally start to brown and smell nutty. Watch this stage and stir it often because it can go from brown and nutty to burnt in a few seconds. Add marshmellows and stir them until melted and mixture turns pale brown. Stir constantly until lightly browned but not dark for about 3 to 5 minutes. This is another stage you have to watch closely so it doesn't burn. Put into pan. I butter a piece of waxed paper and press it down flat over my treats to get them flat and that way I don't touch them with my hands... Everyone is so paranoid about germs today!
